Salty Sow serves modern farmhouse cuisine, combining new
cooking techniques with old-world methods like braising, poaching,
and stewing. Our signature cocktail ingredients come fresh out of
the garden, featuring local and organic spirits.
Founded by long-time food lovers, we take special care to prepare
everything we serve from scratch and by hand daily.
Harold Marmulstein
Chef, Partner
Chef Partner Harold Marmulstein was led to pursue a culinary career after working with his dad and grandfather as a kid at a bakery in upstate New York. After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America, he moved to Atlanta where he became the founder and former owner of the award-winning dick and harry’s Restaurant. Marmulstein has been working as an executive chef for more than 25 years in fine-dining restaurants, receiving awards from Zagat, Condé Nast, and Gourmet Magazine, to name a few.
Richard Velazquez
Executive Chef, Salty Sow Phoenix
Growing up in a family of restaurant owners, Executive Chef Richard Velazquez began working in restaurants when he was 15 years old. He met Marmulstein and his wife, Jennifer, in Atlanta after graduating from Florida Culinary Institute. Velazquez eventually worked with Marmulstein for seven years as an executive and sous chef, at two of Marmulstein’s restaurants, including dick and harry’s. He later worked as executive chef at Bistro VG, where Jennifer was general manager.
